PH Title Allow me to introduce myself. My name is David Stover and I am the acquisitions editor for Prentice Hall Allyn & Bacon Canada's career and technology list.

My job is to seek out and develop new learning products -- textbooks, mainly, but also multimedia projects for distribution by disk, CD-ROM, or on the Web -- for post-secondary students and instructors in various career and technology disciplines.

I'm always on the lookout for exciting new projects in such areas as business communication, technical communication, criminal justice, hospitality, travel and tourism, business education, human relations, and the various technological fields (electronic technology, civil technology, and so on).

If you have an idea for a text in any of these areas, please feel free to contact me by phone, e-mail, or snail mail. Guidelines for preparing a prospectus are available here.

Finally, let me tell you a bit about myself so that this will be a bit more (a byte more?) than impersonal, boilerplate cybertext.

I've worked in educational publishing in Canada for most of the last decade in many roles: sales representative, marketing manager, and now as an editor. I may even have met some of you in person on my travels! I've also worked as a newspaper reporter and as a freelance writer, with several dozen magazine articles, five books, and about a million words of newspaper copy to my credit.

In short, I've worked in the publishing industry on both sides of the editor's desk, and I hope to have the opportunity to work with you, too.
